Looking back at a barn conversion in Llanishen

With the onset of summer and the longer period of dry weather with good natural light, now is a good time to start on the larger projects.

The photographs show the sequence of events that turned this semi-derelict barn in Llanishen into a beautifully light and open family home.

There was a lot of structural making good to be done before the conversion work could start in earnest. By having the longer days and the glorious summer weather (honestly!) on our side, the work was completed without delays, meaning that the family got their new dream home on time, just as they envisaged it and within budget.

Now may be the best time to start turning your property dreams into reality, so give us a call on the number shown or click in the header of any page to send us an email.

Whitebrook is in the heart of the breathtaking Wye Valley in a hidden valley amongst the rolling countryside, It is a perfect base for exploring. This area of the Wye Valley has justifiably been designated an "area of outstanding natural beauty", with rugged limestone outcrops and gentle pastures offering the delights of the Wye Valley Walk and Offa's Dyke path.

The Wild Daffodil occurs in several places in Monmouthshire, such as Springdale Farm and Penallt Old Church Wood.

However the greatest spectacle is provided by the slope below Margaret's Wood reserve, on the way to Whitebrook, where a carpet of thousands of flowers provides a wonderful display at the end of March and beginning of April.

For the more energetic amongst us, the springtime event of choice is the Whitebrook Wind-up. Comprising a course of 10Km, competitors can complete one lap for the 10K run, or two for a half marathon. Considering the elevation change is some 1200m, this is a very challenging course indeed. Sponsored by the Village Websmith, the event always attracts a large number of runners from all over the country.
